I chose to talk about breastfeeding this week. I breastfed my child and I must say it was a difficult thing to keep going with. Sometimes it was one of the most painful things because no one filled me in on the things to make it more bareable. But I just had to do it since my child would receive such good benefits like antibodies, nutrients and gain some immunity. Which, I believe to be true because I was very sickly as a child and I definitely wanted to do everything in my power to keep my child from having all those ear infections and asthma. breastfeeding played a large roll in this, I would like to believe.
www.wcrf.org states:
That 43% of asians breastfeed for the first six months while Americans only do 31% for the first six. It says breast milk is needed for healthy development and protecting the newborn from infectious diseases and less likely to be overweight.
